The New York Jets made their final roster moves before Sunday's trip to Arrowhead, moving linebacker Troy Reeder and offensive tackle Brant Banks up from the practice squad for the game against the Kansas City Chiefs. SB Nation reported the moves, and the Jets' team site confirmed them.

Neither player is likely to change much about how Kansas City prepares. Reeder joined New York's practice squad in early September and has mostly been called up for special teams. Banks is a 6-foot-7 second-year tackle who played college ball at Nebraska and Rice. He went undrafted and signed with Green Bay, where he played two games last season, all six of his snaps coming on special teams. The Packers released him on Aug. 30, and the Jets signed him to their practice squad on Sept. 3. The team says he was also elevated for its last two games, against Miami and Las Vegas.

That means this is Banks' final standard elevation. Associated Press reporter Dennis Waszak, as cited by Heavy, wrote that "It's the third time Banks has been elevated and the second for Reeder." Heavy noted that Banks has not played a snap for New York this season. If the Jets want him active again after Sunday, they will need to sign him to the 53-man roster. For Kansas City, the moves point to a Jets team covering depth on the offensive line and on special teams rather than adding anyone who changes the game plan.

What it means for Sunday

The Chiefs come home at 5-2, but they have lost two straight on the road. Kansas City scored only three points in a 20-3 loss at Seattle, then lost a 28-24 shootout at Denver. Before that, the Chiefs won five in a row: 31-10 over the Broncos, 33-30 over Indianapolis, 24-10 at Miami, 30-27 at Las Vegas and 22-6 over the Chargers. Two of those wins came against the Dolphins and Raiders, the same teams the Jets just played with Banks on the game-day roster. The game kicks off Sunday on CBS.

The prices make Kansas City a clear favorite. On Novig, one of 12 venues on this site's board, the Chiefs are favored at -426 on the moneyline and the Jets are +413. The best Jets moneyline anywhere is +425 at Hard Rock Bet, so the venues are close together on the outright result. Novig has Kansas City favored by 8.5 points at -104, with the Jets +8.5 at +102. DraftKings is offering the Jets at +9.5 for -105, the widest number on the board. Novig has the total at 47.5, and DraftKings has 48.5 on the under at -118. Sportsbook hold on the game runs from about 3.4% to 5.5% depending on the market.

After this game, Kansas City goes to Atlanta on Nov. 15. Early prices have the Chiefs favored there too, at -186 on Novig and -175 at DraftKings, with the spread at 3 to 3.5 points depending on the venue.
