Chiefs Host Jets in Salute to Service Game
The Chiefs host the Jets at Arrowhead in their Salute to Service game, looking to end a two-game losing streak ahead of Veterans Day.

The Kansas City Chiefs host the New York Jets at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. It is the team's Salute to Service game, held three days before Veterans Day, and it comes with Kansas City trying to stop a two-game slide. According to Arrowhead Pride, the SB Nation site that covers the Chiefs, the club will honor military service members during the 1 p.m. CBS broadcast.
The tribute also marks the nation's 250th anniversary. The Kansas City Star reported that players and staff will wear a patch on their pregame gear based on the Minuteman Statue in Lexington, Massachusetts. The statue depicts militia captain John Parker and stands near the site of the first battle of the American Revolution.
Most national forecasters expect the Chiefs to handle the Jets. The Star's roundup of expert picks included a 30-13 Kansas City win from NBC Sports' Mike Florio and a 27-13 result from the Associated Press. The Athletic took the other side against the spread. Its pick noted that the Jets run the ball well and that five of their six losses have come by seven points or fewer.
What it means against the Jets
Kansas City is 5-2, but the last two weeks have hurt. The Chiefs won their first five games, including a 31-10 opener against Denver and a 22-6 home win over the Chargers. Then they lost 20-3 at Seattle and 28-24 in the rematch at Denver. Sunday is their first home game since the Chargers win.
The Jets' ground game is the main test. In Arrowhead Pride's roundup of the week's comments, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo compared running back Braelon Allen's style to Derrick Henry's. "He's a big guy. So, we've got to be on point tackling," Spagnuolo said. Kansas City ranks eighth in rushing yards allowed per game, at 96, and third at 3.5 yards per carry. Seattle's 153 rushing yards are the only time this season an opponent has reached 120.
ESPN reported that Jets running back Breece Hall is expected back from a quadriceps injury after missing five games. Receiver Garrett Wilson could sit with a concussion. New York ranks last in the league in red-zone conversion at 42 percent.
The Chiefs are heavy favorites on this site's board, which tracks 12 venues. Novig has Kansas City at -441 to win outright, and the best price anywhere is Polymarket's -439, so there is almost no gap between venues. The Jets are +413 on Novig. On the spread, Novig lists the Chiefs at -9.5 for -100, and theScore Bet has the best Chiefs number at -8.5 for -115. Novig's total is 47.5, and Pinnacle's best under price sits a point higher at 48.5. Sportsbook hold on the moneyline ranges from 3.2% to 5.5%.
The schedule then sends Kansas City to Atlanta on November 15. Early prices make the Chiefs favored at -182 on Novig and -175 at DraftKings, the best price for Kansas City across seven venues.
